How I Got Into GITA

At first, I got into GITA because my parents suggested that I try coding. They wanted me to try all sorts of things before I get into high school so that I can figure out what I want to major in. When I joined GITA 1 last year in 8th grade, I had no clue on how to code. I didn't know what it was like, nor how I can improve. However, I persevered through it all and found out how fun coding is. It may definitely be frustrating when I can't find an erro, but it is just so satisfying to see the end result.

My Goals For This Year

My goals for this year on the first day of school was to do the best I can in order to achieve my dream college: Caltech. It is a very tough school, but I thought I would be able to do it if I tried hard enough. However, I may have been able to keep my grades up, but my work habits are falling. That is why my new goal is to fix my work habits and work more dilligently so that I can do well in my upcoming years. I am aware on how to fix my problems. I need to either clear myself from distractions, or teach myself to fight against it.

What GITA Is Like

To me, GITA is a subject that amuses me the most. My work habits may not currently prove this, but I actually really like to code and hope to get much better at it. GITA is a lot about lectures where the teacher (Mr. Salesky) goes to the front of the class and teaches us new concepts and functions. The fun part is when Mr. Salesky makes a mistake and we try to figure out what the mistake is alongside him. Whenever I do my projects, and I switch tabs from my coding software to the result, it satisfies me so much to see how all this code gives such a nice result.
